Commentary: Freedom Is the Essence of American Exceptionalism

Well Head where fluids are injected into the ground

President Joe Biden has continuously stated that “climate change” is the highest priority of his administration, fueled by Build Back Better spending. We are witnessing the disastrous impacts that establishing the wrong priorities can have.

On the day Biden became President, America was energy independent, our borders were secure, and the world was relatively peaceful.

Biden has done everything possible to shut down, curtail, and undermine American energy production. First, he shut down the permitted Keystone Pipeline. Then he eliminated fracking on federal lands, and slowed permits for new oil fields.

As international oil prices increased, Biden blamed American oil companies and accused them of profiteering as he begged international producers to pump more oil. Green advocates gained seats on the Exxon Board, which reduced the exploration for more oil. We now have rapidly increasing energy prices, which is one major reason why we have 7 percent consumer inflation.

CASE

Now $100 a barrel oil allows Russia, a major producer of oil, to gain enough money to be adventurous, attacking the independent country of Ukraine. Thousands of soldiers and civilians are losing their lives because Joe Biden established climate change as more important than American energy independence.

John Kerry, the “Climate Envoy,” shows no concern for the suffering, death, and destruction of Ukraine, callously stating he fears “Russian-Ukraine war will distract from climate change.”

Gas prices are soaring and steel costs, already high from tariffs, are going higher because of rising energy costs. Green Energy is fashionable but it’s not reliable and requires redundant energy production facilities. Fossil fuels are necessary for a growing economy and the primary power source for the so-called “green” electric cars.

The Russian incursion into Ukraine will cause additional supply chain disruptions and inflation of energy, metal, semiconductor, and food prices. Biden thinks he has a solution to solve Russia’s aggression, namely, sanctions. Unfortunately, these sanctions will result is counter-measures from the Russians and shortages of critical minerals and elements needed for semiconductors.

Note: Biden did not sanction the flow of Russian oil but his administration has done everything possible to impose sanctions on America’s energy producers.

Biden’s weakness may tempt China to attack Taiwan, ending freedom and creating world economic chaos.

President Biden and the Democratic Congress are also creating very high inflation with massive federal spending programs exceeding $5 trillion in 2021. This spending is fueling inflation, shortages, and a $3 trillion federal deficit. The federal debt has now soared to $30 trillion, up from $6 trillion in 2000.

The Federal Reserve, along with Biden, denied inflation until every America citizen experienced high gas, food, housing, and transportation costs. The Feds’ goal was to create 2 percent inflation, but the actual inflation is over 7 percent. Finally, the Fed is considering raising the ultra-short interest rates, but the hour is very late with inflation out of control.

Biden continues to lobby for a $2 trillion Build Back Better spending bill, which should be more correctly titled, “The AOC-Green New Deal.”

Reducing inflation, strengthening national security, and growing the economy are top priorities.

Freedom is the essence of American exceptionalism. American prosperity requires the follow policies:

  • Energy independence; drilling for oil and natural gas in America is required for national security.
  • Attack inflation by reducing federal spending and eliminating $3 trillion deficits.
  • Secure our borders and liberalize legal immigration, now impeded by endless red tape.
  • Respect the innovators and producers with low taxes and regulation.

Time is of the essence, Mr. Biden. If we are to have strong economy and a secure nation, you need to respect and support hard-working Americans, both workers and producers.
