Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis sent an email out to campaign followers blasting Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried’s (D) recent comments comparing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) to infamous National Socialist dictator Adolf Hitler.
“Our governor has been so successful exposing the failed policies of the Biden-Harris-Fauci administration, Democrats are now desperate. They will stop at nothing to distract from their failed policies. When they can’t win on the issues, all they can do is resort to their tactics of baseless attacks and mudslinging.
Just this weekend, Florida Democrats compared Governor DeSantis to Hitler.
This comparison is repulsive, offensive, and minimizes Hitler’s evil crimes against humanity.”
Casey DeSantis reiterated her point by saying the Democrats’ “smears reek of desperation” and defended her husband’s reputation while their efforts minimized Hitler’s crimes against humanity.
Fried indicated in her recent comments that she was a student of history and learned how Hitler came to power.
“Do I think that we’re going to get to the extent of Hitler’s power?” Fried said. “Of course not. But the rise of his power and what he did to scapegoat certain people, and especially the Jewish community in Germany, and how he utilized going after the media, blaming people, and putting fear and then taking over the military. That’s what this governor is doing.”
The Anti-Defamation League of Florida (ADL Florida) also condemned Fried’s comments.
“While public officials may have disagreements over policies, comparisons to the Holocaust and Nazism are inappropriate, offensive, and trivialize this unique tragedy in human history,” ADL Florida said on Twitter.

The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) called on Fried to step down from her position.
“Especially as a child of Holocaust survivors who lost aunts, uncles, and grandparents to the horrors of Hitler, I urge that Florida Democrat Nikki Fried be condemned by Democratic Party officials in Florida and America for her sick, demented comparison of the great Republican Governor DeSantis to one of the Jew-hating monsters in history, Adolf Hitler,” said ZOA National President Morton Klein.
