In what appears to be a racially motivated attack, a member of the Florida House of Representatives attacked conservative commentator Candace Owens for her support of Governor Ron DeSantis (R).
“He knows how to break the law, violate constitutional rights, lie and bully. There I fixed it for you @RealCandaceO You should be ashamed of what #DeSantisDestroysFlorida is doing to Black communities in Florida. But of course…get them coins girls,” said State Rep. Angie Nixon (D-Jacksonville) on Twitter.

Owens, who is black, has often been derided by black Democrats as a “token” conservative, a derogatory term for those who think she advocates against her own interests with her political views.
Nixon’s office did not return a comment request about the racist remark.
Nixon was responding to Owens’ praise for DeSantis, who has been engaged in a tit-for-tat with Disney, one of Florida’s largest companies, over its “woke” activism.
“Ron DeSantis is so impressive. He knows how to fight … and more importantly how to win,” Owens said, linking to an article in The Daily Mail about DeSantis’ battle with Disney.

When DeSantis signed into law HB 1557, the now-infamous anti-grooming legislation to protect 5-to-8-year-olds from adult teachers discussing with them sexuality and gender, Disney said it would actively fight against the measure.
“Our goal as a company is for this law to be repealed by the legislature or struck down in the courts, and we remain committed to supporting the national and state organizations working to achieve that,” the company said in a statement at the time. “We are dedicated to standing up for the rights and safety of LGBTQ+ members of the Disney family, as well as the LGBTQ+ community in Florida and across the country.”
In response, DeSantis swiftly stripped Disney of its “special district” status, which allowed the company to build and operate without the requirement of local and state government licensure, approval and other red tape.
Disney formerly operated in what was known as the Randy Creek Improvement District.
The Randy Creek Improvement Act of 1967 was signed into law that year after lobbying efforts by the company, which was building its famous Florida theme park at the time. The law granted Disney 25,000 acres of land in Orange and Osceola counties to build the theme park, which governs itself.
DeSantis has faced fierce criticism from the far left, which has thrown a temper tantrum over the governor’s actions.
The left-wing New York Times, for example, said that his “attack” on Disney is also “an assault on Democracy.”
