Governor DeSantis Issues Thanksgiving Message Promising ‘Better Days’ Ahead

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis recently released a video message wishing Floridians a happy Thanksgiving and reminding citizens of the freedoms we all should be thankful for as Americans.

“I want to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving,” Governor DeSantis began in his holiday message. “Two hundred and thirty-three years ago, President George Washington issued a proclamation for “a day of public thanksgiving and prayer” for the American people to “acknowledge with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.”

“We’re blessed to be Americans and to live in the free state of Florida,” he added.

DeSantis acknowledged that “while our country has faced so many problems in recent years, we have the capacity to solve these problems and to bring about brighter days.”

Near the end of his video message, DeSantis said he was thankful for his family, his wife’s health in regards to her recent battle with breast cancer, and “ the trust Floridians have placed in me and my administration to continue our efforts.”

“We will keep Florida free. Thank you, and God bless you all,” DeSantis concluded.

Sharing the video on social media, DeSantis added in the caption, “Every Floridian should take a moment today to give thanks for the blessings God has bestowed on us and our great nation.”

First Lady Casey DeSantis also wished her social media followers a happy Thanksgiving, writing on Twitter, “[Ron DeSantis] and I have so much to be thankful for this year, especially the confidence and trust you placed in our Governor to lead the great state of Florida. Hoping you have a very Happy Thanksgiving!”
