Report: Biden DOJ Offers No Jail Time for Transgender Perpetrator Who Admitted to Desecrating Church and Assaulting Worker

The Biden Department of Justice (DOJ) is recommending no jail time and three years of probation for a transgender activist who admitted to vandalizing a Catholic church with profane graffiti, desecrating a statue of the Virgin Mary, and assaulting a church worker, according to a Fox News Digital report.

A plea agreement that was reportedly viewed by Fox News Digital shows the Biden DOJ says a man who uses the name Maeve Nota, 31, should receive zero jail time, despite admitting to vandalizing St. Louise Catholic Church in Bellevue, Washington.

As the Daily Mail reported on June 30, 2022, in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, Nota smashed in one of the doors of the church with a rock and then spray-painted the outside walls of the church with phrases, including, “religion of hate,” “go to your fake hell,” “groomers,” “rapists,” “woman haters,” and “f**k Catholics.”

In the surveillance video, Nota was seen leaving after a church worker who had been hit by the rock attempted to chase him off.

CASE

When police found Nota, they reported he appeared intoxicated during the arrest and used a backpack full of spray paint cans to smash the police vehicle before surrendering.

Nota’s actions were reported as a hate crime and were assessed as having caused $100,000 in damages.

The Biden DOJ’s assessment of Nota’s actions – that they warrant no jail time – is in stark contrast to the treatment given to pro-life activist Mark Houck, who was recently found not guilty by a jury in federal court of alleged violations of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act. The Biden DOJ prosecuted Houck for his pro-life work, including praying the rosary before an abortion clinic.

“It is very clear that the Biden Justice Department has politicized and weaponized the FACE Act to go after pro-life Christians praying outside of abortion clinics like Mark Houck while turning a blind eye to violent felons terrorizing and badly damaging Catholic churches like Maeve Nota,” Mike Davis, founder of the Article III Project, told Fox News Digital.

“The Biden Justice Department tried to put Houck in prison for 11 years for defending his son while recommending no jail time for Nota after this deranged trans terrorist badly damaged a Catholic church, fought with the police, assaulted a church employee, and scared the hell out of a little old lady praying,” Davis said.

Filings from early March viewed by Fox News Digital reportedly state the Biden DOJ charged Nota with a misdemeanor – destruction of religious property – which can carry up to one year in prison and $100,000 in fines, but just one week later, a “previously unreported plea agreement between the Justice Department, Nota, and his attorney shows they will recommend no jail time and three years of probation” when he is sentenced on June 2, the report noted.
