Rep. Massie Introduces Bill to Abolish the Department of Education

by Just the News Staff

Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie announced on Tuesday the proposal of a bill that would officially abolish the U.S. Department of Education.

Massie made the announcement on Twitter on Tuesday morning. “I have introduced a bill to terminate the Department of Education,” he wrote. ”

“There is no Constitutional authority for this federal bureaucracy to exist,” he added.

CASE

The bill, with eight Republican co-sponsors in the House, is virtually doomed to fail, facing both a Democratic-controlled Senate and President Joe Biden’s veto power in the White House.

The DOE emerged in 1979 under the administration of Jimmy Carter, having been created by the congressional Department of Education Organization Act.

Ted Cruz listed DOE high on his list of the 75% of Fed Depts & Programs without any US Constitutional authority for existing.

IMAGINE… a FLAT Tax with proper regression allowing the same $1 item at WalMart to gross out WITH Fed FLAT Tax applied at the same $1… to eliminate our Fed GOVT selecting “weiners & loosers” in society??

NOW, consider shuttering all those Fed Depts & Programs in favour of allowing ‘states’ to actually be the sovereign GOVT touching citizens as our Founders established!!

The FLAT Tax takes care of the 50 years of vested SS & Medicare benefits accrued whilst switching to the Individual Private Account… just like Chile famously did back in 1983 when looking at the bankrupt US system LBJ stopped funding in 1965!! Today, Chile has 95% of its retiring population living just fine and doing their own medical care also; ranking #1 in South America in GDP per capita and just 12% of Nat’l Debt to GDP!!

It all starts by shutting down that very first unconstitutional Fed Dept!!
