Casey DeSantis to Campaign for Her Husband and Presidential Hopeful Florida Governor Ron DeSantis This Week in Iowa

Florida’s first lady is scheduled to launch her “Mamas for DeSantis” effort as she campaigns Thursday in Iowa for her husband and Republican presidential hopeful Governor Ron DeSantis.

Casey DeSantis’ stop is part of a busy Fourth of July holiday week for presidential campaigns in the Hawkeye State, with former Vice President Mike Pence and North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum returning to Iowa, as well.

The DeSantis campaign describes Mamas for DeSantis as an initiative to “ensure that the parents’ revolution that started in Florida reaches every home, school and community across the country.”

“As the mom and dad of young children, Governor DeSantis and First Lady Casey DeSantis (pictured above, right) know that when parents are engaged, America prospers,” a DeSantis for President email states. “We need every mama and every grandmama in every corner of the country to stand up and fight back by electing Ron DeSantis president of the United States of America.”

Iowa Republican Governor Kim Reynolds is scheduled to join Casey DeSantis for the launch event, which takes place at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Simpson Barn in Johnston, a Des Moines suburb. Doors open at 5 p.m.

Meanwhile, Pence is planning a three-day, multi-stop swing through Iowa, beginning Tuesday.

The former vice president should have much to say and plenty of questions to answer following his unannounced trip to Ukraine last week to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Pence will be in Urbandale’s Fourth of July parade, beginning at 10. a.m., according to his campaign. He’ll then attend a meet and greet at Midland Power Cooperative in Boone.

On Wednesday, Pence heads to western Iowa for campaign stops in Sioux Center, Le Mars, and Sioux City.

He wraps up his Iowa trip on Thursday with campaign events in Ida and Pottawattamie counties.

Pence made the rounds with the political talking heads on Sunday, joining “This Week” on ABC and NewsMax to discuss last week’s landmark Supreme Court ruling ending affirmative action and stopping President Joe Biden’s $400 billion college student loan bailout.

“I couldn’t be more proud of this new Conservative majority on the Supreme Court of the United States, just this week, living up to our hope and aspiration to apply the law as written, to check the unconstitutional student loan forgiveness by the Biden administration, the end race-based admissions in college, and to affirm the freedom of religion of every American of every faith,” Pence told Newsmax host Tom Basile in an interview that aired Sunday.

While the former vice president has been highly critical of his former running mate President Donald Trump, he has sought to point out the conservative successes of the Trump-Pence administration, including Trump’s appointment of three conservative justices to the Supreme Court.

Burgum is making his second campaign trip to the kickoff caucus state since announcing his campaign early last month. The North Dakota Republican was slated to visit the John Wayne Birthplace and Museum in Winterset on Sunday, and he had a Coffee with the Candidate event in Nevada, IA, on Monday, according to the campaign. He was to wrap up his Hawkeye State trip at an appearance in the West Des Moines Fourth of July parade Monday evening.

“The governor’s trip will allow him to meet with voters across the Hawkeye state and comes following a new ad focused on the importance of selling energy from our allies instead of buying it from our enemies,” the campaign stated in a press release.
